Looking Glass Dreams

Gazing at glazed silver, seeking answers from above Saw you were a vulture in the feathers of a dove Couldn't see that clearly, and I tend to overthink Your image drew me in, that's when I began to sink Misled by illusions, that I believed were true Playing with reflections, in search of something new Blinded by confusion, hoping to find a clue Lost in looking glass dreams, what can I do? Mirrors are misleading, turning everything around Looking for some truth when there's none there to be found At most you were a shadow that I never clearly saw I asked you for a window, but you showed me the door Misled by illusions, that I believed were true Playing with reflections, in search of something new Blinded by confusion, hoping to find a clue Lost in looking glass dreams, what can I do Bewildered and confused, I fell for your deception Made so many mistakes heading in your direction How could I find you when you never existed? Ambition pulled me in, even though my head resisted Misled by illusions, that I believed were true Playing with reflections, in search of something new Blinded by confusion, hoping to find a clue Lost in looking glass dreams, what can I do? Misled by illusions, that I believed were true Playing with reflections, in search of something new Blinded by confusion, hoping to find a clue Lost in looking glass dreams, what can I do

The waves and the horizon Been calling to me Ever since I was a young child With dreams of the sea My first memory, is wanting to break free Couldn't escape from, the chains holding me Citizen of nowhere Lost without a home Prisoner of everywhere Caught up in this storm, all alone Trapped behind this fence Can't get past the gate Everyone ignoring me Resigned to my fate Running for too long Can't find my place No-one remembers me I've left it all too late Citizen of nowhere Lost without a home Prisoner of everywhere Caught up in this storm... Citizen of nowhere Lost without a home Prisoner of everywhere Caught up in this storm, all alone Caught up in this storm, all alone

Clock is ticking slowly Anything you want to say? Still sitting in the same place We've been here the whole damn day Dust of a thousand memories Piled high upon our shelves You've forgotten how to think straight And I just look out for myself Moonlight can't get through That cracked back windowpane Stayed here far too long And now it's starting to rain All we have to do is get up and move But there's nowhere left to go And we've nothing more to prove Can't keep out the night air Dust falls gently to the floor Got no reason to stay here, so why don't I walk through that door? The river's calling me down To the water dark and cold Wish I'd never left home To search for silver and gold All we have to do is get up and move But there's nowhere left to go And we've nothing more to prove While the clock counts down our time We lose sight of the floor We know that we should clean it up But where there's dust we'll always find more Moonlight still can't get through The cracked back windowpane Stayed here far too long, and The moon is on the wane All we have to do is get up and move But there's nowhere left to go And we've nothing more to prove All we have to do is get up and move But there's nowhere left to go And we've nothing more to prove

Spindrift 03:14
You couldn't stand the heat Feeling older by the second Resigned to defeat Your old guitar beckoned It felt too heavy For your frail hands to play But when you struck a chord You felt time melt away Music has the power To help your wounds heal Music has the power Take your dreams and make them real Whispers on the breeze Born of clouds and blue sky Could be a verse or reprise You won't find out until you try Music has the power To help your wounds heal Music has the power Take your dreams and make them real Spindrift floating in Mist of wave-crested spray Inspires you within Like Heart of Gold and Maggie May Music has the power To help your wounds heal Music has the power Take your dreams and make them real Music has the power Music has the power

This is how the night goes This is how the night goes I wake up far too early, before any hint of light No sound through the window, the morning choir sleeps tight The once constant future got lost somewhere in the past Can't seem to look ahead, open doors are closing fast Never too late, try something new No matter how dark it may seem Even now, a wish can come true It's never too late to dream Trying to remember the flame that burned so deep Looking over the edge, not ready to make that leap Time to claim back tomorrow, dawn is a time to renew Helios is offering a warm hand from the blue Never too late, try something new No matter how dark it may seem Even now, a wish can come true It's never too late Is life just a string of missed chances? Bad decisions and broken hearts Or steps in our given dances? A troupe of actors playing our parts Never too late, try something new No matter how dark it may seem Even now, a wish can come true It's never too late to dream

Amelia Found 04:03
Twenty fourth of July 1897 Amelia Mary first cried to the sky "Get down here Amelia" said your mother with a glare "Climbing trees is for boys, what's with you my dear?" Girls whose tastes aren't routine, don't get treated fair Driven from so young, to be a pioneer When that pilot flew at you, to scare you away Lit a spark so, soon, you would conquer the sky You paid with courage for a fair restless day Stood your ground, hid your fear, now destined to fly Amelia you charted your own course With your willpower, coolness and speed Rejecting the rules they tried to enforce Refusing to follow, you took the lead You said "Adventure's worthwhile in itself" Your own thought and action was the goal Chasing your dream, you left doubts on the shelf Opened doors to the future through trusting your soul Amelia you charted your own course With your willpower, coolness and speed Rejecting the rules they tried to enforce Refusing to follow, you took the lead Rejecting the rules they tried to enforce Refusing to follow, you took the lead Back from school to the air 1927 Amelia would once again fly so high

Fly Away 04:34
Searching for the missing link, looking down from the sky Clues in invisible ink, but you never asked why Caught a bunch of faded flowers still covered in dew Punched a hole in the darkness, found a new way through Always on the run and crossing  borders Can't stay anywhere long, don't have a home Wind the motor up, time to fly away Travel back in time, nothing more to pay Put a needle in, take a record out Lower down the arm, want to twist and shout Can't reach your ivory towers they're too good to be true When you asked me for money, I took that as my cue Slumped over the sink,  another vow lost on high You said I'd lose if I blink, I knew that was a lie I left when you said you were just following orders No roots left so I have to roam Wind the motor up, time to fly away Travel back in time, nothing more to pay Put a needle in, take a record out Lower down the arm, want to twist and shout Wind the motor up, time to fly away Travel back in time, nothing more to pay Put a needle in, take a record out Lower down the arm, want to twist and shout

Amelia Lost 03:18
On the First of July 1937 Amelia looked East; she was ready to fly And get a little closer to heaven To reach up for the beauty of her night sky "Cloudy weather, Cloudy" The navigator's stars hidden by a shroud And Coastguard messages that they couldn't hear Their landing place too small to be found "Fears are paper tigers", but now they draw near "Cloudy weather, Cloudy" Amelia, you've left us with a mystery When did you know that your ending drew near? Conspiracies grown from your history The price you paid to be a pioneer "We're running North and South" On the second of July 1937 You and Noonan silently glid from on high Did the two of you crash your way down into heaven? From a grey and lifeless morning sky "We're running North and South, m'aidez" Amelia, you have left us with a mystery What did you feel as your wings hit the sea? You vanished and earned your place in history Was courage life's price for granting you peace? "We're running North and South, m'aidez, m'aidez" "We're running North and South" "We're running North and South"

I Never Knew 03:06
I don't think of heaven that's not where you are So why, in the night sky Do I see you as a star? Have you returned to the Dust from which you were made? Or an echo of a memory that one day has to fade? I never knew I'd miss you Quite as much as I do And the last time that I kissed you I don't think about hell Maybe better if I did Too many things I wasn't proud of And so I kept them hid I didn't want to disappoint you Even though I knew you'd forgive Your flame has been extinguished With so much still to give I never knew I'd miss you Quite as much as I do And the last time that I kissed you I know this must be home Even though it seems unreal I wish that I'd done more To show you how I feel. You'd say don't be foolish If you were sat here today Go and live my own life your star will light my way I never knew I'd miss you Quite as much as I do And the last time that I kissed you I never knew I'd miss you Quite as much as I do And the last time that I kissed you When you said our love was true

Winning at anything Is getting harder for you these days Your imagined opponents Aren't easy to see Hidden in the depths No need for a disguise Unguarded moments Set them free You're forever shooting stars Hopelessly aiming for bliss You're forever shooting stars Without fail, you always miss You're forever shooting stars The night sky is dark Even with its billions of lights Like those distant suns Your anger burns hot You aim at a point in the sky Framed within the sight The cross hairs tell lies But you still fire You're forever shooting stars Hopelessly aiming for bliss You're forever shooting stars Without fail, you always miss You're forever shooting stars A flash of light cuts across the sky Just a speck of dust that fools your eye You're forever shooting stars Hopelessly aiming for bliss You're forever shooting stars Without fail, you always miss You're forever shooting stars You're forever shooting stars
