One of two songs about Amelia Earhart from my "Looking Glass Dreams" album. This one is about her early life and some of the influences that shaped her. The lyric contains a selection of quotes and paraphrases from Amelia Earhart. Featuring Heather Newton on violins and the Kintners on electric guitars and harmony vocals.

Amelia Mary first cried to the sky

“Get down here Amelia” said your mother with a glare
“Climbing trees is for boys, what’s with you my dear?”
Girls whose tastes aren’t routine, don’t get treated fair
Driven from so young, to be a pioneer

When that pilot flew at you, to scare you away
Lit a spark so, soon, you would conquer the sky
You paid with courage for a fair restless day
